People are at the heart of everything we do. We empower our team and the neighborhoods we serve, prioritizing landowners, communities, and one another.
Founded in 2012, our name was inspired by the Heel Stone, a solitary block of sarsen outside Stonehenge that aligns perfectly with the rising sun on the summer solstice. We, too, align with our partners across the energy landscape to create inspired and sustainable projects.
In that same spirit of alignment and purpose, we work closely with our partners across the energy landscape to move projects forward with creativity and resilience.
Heelstone was established by founders who leveraged experience in structured finance and acquired mid to late-stage development projects in North Carolina.
Heelstone received an investment from Ares Infrastructure and Power, a subsidiary of Ares Management Corporation (NYSE: ARES), as part of a partnership to develop utility-scale solar projects across the US.
Qualitas Energy, a leading global investment and management platform with a dual focus on both funding and developing renewable energy, energy transition, and sustainable infrastructure, acquired Heelstone.
Heelstone acquired Valor Infrastructure Partners, increasing our expertise and our offerings to include wind technology development.
We are looking forward to a year of building large, high-value projects and positioning more to break ground in 2027.
