Doug Stein is Heelstone Renewable Energy’s Chief Financial Officer, bringing more than 25 years of leadership experience in the power and renewable energy industry.
He most recently served on the C-Suite of a utility-scale solar independent power producer, where he contributed to the deployment of multi-GW solar portfolios and significant multi-state pipeline expansion, assisting in the clean energy transition. In his role as Chief Accounting and Administrative Officer, he led FP&A, HR, IT, Communications, as well as Accounting and Tax, successfully maturing operations while championing a values-driven culture. Earlier, Doug held various senior leadership positions at ENGIE North America, Inc., contributing to the business’s growth in the renewables and retail power segments.
Throughout his career, Doug has successfully led large, cross-functional teams; orchestrated M&A initiatives; driven revenue growth and organizational scaling; and provided strategic financial leadership to support rapid expansion in renewables.
Doug holds a Master of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Accounting from Trinity University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Doug resides in Durham, North Carolina, where he enjoys getting outdoors to both the mountains and the beach, watching sports, working out, and listening to a good podcast.
